Income Limit Table Shared Between Applications and Recertifications

The Income Limit table below is shared between the Applications and Recertifications settings pages. Any edits made on one settings page will automatically update the other, ensuring consistency across both processes.

The settings in this table are used for the following purposes:

Achieving HUD's 75% New Admissions Goal for Voucher Programs
  • HUD Requirement: The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requires that at least 75% of new admissions to the Voucher Programs be allocated to families classified as Extremely Low Income (earning at or below 30% of the Area Median Income).
  • Enforcement: You can select how to enforce this requirement in the Application Settings page.
Setting Income Limit Values During Recertifications
  • Exceeding Income Limits: During the Recertification process, if a household's verified income exceeds the Low Income Limit (typically 80% of the Area Median Income), the system will automatically set their Income Limit status to "Exceeds Income Limit."
  • Purpose: This status helps determine continued eligibility and is enforced by the Zero Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) process.
Note: Changes made to the Income Limit table will affect both the Application and Recertification processes, ensuring that income eligibility criteria are consistently applied.
